Z Meters Wins Product of the Year Award from Electronic Products

Z Meters' ZM100 Distribution Analysis System Earns "Product of the Year" Honors from Electronic Products Magazine

Innovative measurement system also recognized by major electrical contracting publication

February 20, 2006-Santa Clara, Calif.-Electronic Products Magazine, the highly regarded monthly electronic design publication read by over 140,000 engineers, has awarded its 2005 Product of the Year in the Test & Measurement Category to the ZM100 Distribution Analysis System from Santa Clara-based Z Meters, Inc. Electronic Products' Test & Measurement Editor, Richard Comerford, presented the award to Robert Moore, President & CEO of Z Meters, Inc.

According to an article in the January 2006 issue of Electronic Products, "From the thousands of products introduced in 2005, the editors of Electronic Products-after many hours of discussion and debate-have chosen the products they feel are among the most outstanding. Selections were based on a significant advance in technology or its application, innovation in design, or a substantial gain in price/performance."

In presenting the award to Z Meters, Comerford noted that "the design of the ZM100, utilizing multiple instruments and cross-correlation techniques to identify and locate anomalies in the electrical distribution system, is truly unique and richly deserving of this award."

Bob Moore is well known to the power quality community as founder of two leading Power Monitoring companies-Basic Measuring Instruments, now Dranetz/BMI, and Reliable Power Meters, which was recently acquired by Fluke. Moore's latest venture, Z Meters, Inc., once again brings a new and unique perspective to power quality monitoring. In accepting the award on behalf of Z Meters, Moore said, "We are honored to be recognized by the editors of Electronic Products Magazine. Typical power quality and energy monitoring instruments such as those we developed at BMI and RPM provide data on what events are occurring and when they occurred. The ZM100 system takes it to the next level by telling us why and where the abnormal conditions exist in the distribution system that set the stage for those events to take place."

The ZM100 was introduced in October 2005 at the PowerSystems World Conference and Exhibit in Baltimore, Maryland.

In addition to the Product of the Year Award from Electronic Products Magazine, the ZM100 was also recognized as Product of the Month in EC&M Magazine: http://ecmweb.com/mag/electric_getting_root_pq/
