Xilinx Sponsors NI LabVIEW FPGA Innovation Award at NIWeek 2011

New Award Added to Graphical System Design Achievement Awards from National Instruments

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 22, 2011 - Xilinx, Inc. (Nasdaq: XLNX) today announced it is sponsoring a Graphical System Design Achievement Award at NIWeek 2011. The featured award titled "The NI LabVIEW FPGA Innovation Award" will recognize the paper that details the most innovative application using National Instruments (NI) LabVIEW graphical system design software to program the field-programmable gate array (FPGA) in NI hardware including PXI-based R Series modules, CompactRIO, NI FlexRIO, or NI Single-Board RIO devices.

Finalists will be selected by the NI judging panel from an application process. One winner will be chosen for the industry and student design teams categories. Judges will be looking for the best solutions that take advantage of FPGA resources to boost overall system performance. The winners will be chosen by a judging panel consisting of Xilinx participants.

"The commitment of Xilinx and National Instruments to engineering innovation have been fundamental to the success of each of our companies," said Xilinx Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Vin Ratford. "This award is designed to identify and recognize the people who tap the power of programmable logic to create market-changing products and technologies that improve the quality of our everyday lives. FPGAs provide engineers the flexibility and freedom to develop products that stand apart, and we look forward to the groundbreaking designs that will be submitted for this award."

The awards ceremony to honor winners will take place on August 2, 2011 at NIWeek 2011 Worldwide Graphical System Design Conference and Exhibition in Austin, Texas.
