William Polito Becomes Chief Financial Officer for Melles Griot
Carlsbad, California-William Polito has been appointed to the position of
Chief Financial Officer for the worldwide operations of Melles Griot. In his new role, Mr. Polito will report to Blake Fennell, Chief Executive Officer, and will manage all finance, accounting, credit control, and reporting for the company's operations in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Most recently Mr. Polito served as finance director for Melles Griot Optics Group in Rochester, New York, and has been with the company for 17 years. Prior to that position, he was controller at MD Laboratories, where he led the finance program for 9 years.
Mr. Polito earned his MBA degree in Finance from RIT University, Rochester. Mr. Polito brings to this position a deep understanding of finance and accounting functions, and extensive experience in corporate accounting and inventory management.
Polito replaces Eugene Smith, who has accepted the position of Finance Director for Barloworld Scientific, the parent of Melles Griot.
