William King Appointed President of Datron Dynamics

[MILFORD, NH - SEPTEMBER 24, 2008] William "Bill" King has been named President of Datron Dynamics, Inc. in Milford, New Hampshire. Dr. Arne Bruesch, Managing Director of Datron AG, the German parent company of Datron Dynamics, made the announcement recently.

"We have developed a new strategic alliance between our German and American companies that Bill will help us manage and grow," said Dr. Bruesch.

The company underwent a restructuring process in April 2008, out of which Datron AG became the majority shareholder of Datron Dynamics. All involved perceive this as a positive move, with customers being the primary beneficiaries of this new alliance and advanced machining center technology. Datron AG was named one of the "Top 100 Innovators" in Germany last year.

Bill King started with Datron in 1996 managing its Canadian division and has been in the manufacturing sector for over 25 years. He holds an honors Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design from Humber College in Toronto, Canada. He lives in New Hampshire with his wife and three children.

Datron machining centers are designed for high-efficiency machining applications using small tools. Non-ferrous and ferrous components in electronics, medical, engraving, aerospace, energy, and other precision parts are the primary industries that are benefitting from Datron-engineered machines. Datron machines feature 60,000 RPM spindles that produce low force, feed rates of up to 1000"/minute, and superior quality when tooling 0.250" and under. The designers incorporate rugged materials such as solid granite and concrete polymer for machining tables and aged cast steel for base construction. Internally, Datron machines are designed with modular, user-changeable components - including accessible mechanics and electronics that allow the operator to quickly exchange parts. An integrated spray-mist ethanol alcohol coolant system offers excellent surface finishes, eliminates secondary processes like deburring or degreasing, saves production time, and helps to protect the environment. With an eye to the future, the company has built lean manufacturing optimization into its equipment and integrated devices facilitate both Single Unit Pull and SMDE. These include Z-Surface Probe(TM) and Automatic Tool Management System (with tool database, tool sensing and tool changing), Quick-Pallet(TM), and Vacumate(TM) workholding systems - all of which speed setup and overall cycle time.
