Würth Group Acquires House of Threads

Indianapolis, USA - The Würth Group has today announced the acquisition of House of Threads, based in Birmingham, Ala. Würth House of Threads is now a part of the Industry Division as a member company of Würth Industry of North America (WINA), one of the largest assembly component distributors in the U.S.

Providing a range of assembly material and other c-parts to OEM customers and commercial construction companies, the Würth House of Threads business further supports WINA’s continued growth plans and accelerates entry into new and adjacent markets.

With Würth House of Thread’s strong presence in the U.S. Southeast region and Central Mexico, the acquisition will strengthen WINA’s long term logistics strategy. The combination is also expected to enable new classes of products for WINA-meeting customer needs in the construction market segment where House of Threads has an excellent brand name. Additionally, the companies expect to enhance Würth House of Threads’ service offerings through vendor managed inventory solutions, engineering sales support, global sourcing, and more.

"Würth’s growth strategy is to expand our core assets into profitable, complementary market segments and locations," said Marc Strandquist, Executive Vice President of the Würth Group. "Würth House of Threads strengthens our presence in the U.S. Southeast and Central Mexico regions. We also look for them to be a national leader in the construction fastener market. House of Threads is an iconic brand in the fastener distribution industry since the 1960's, and we couldn’t be more proud to have the Yeilding brothers, Foster and Lee, be a part of our team."

“On behalf of our employees and the Yeilding family, we are excited to be joining the Würth team,” says Foster Yeilding, President of Würth House of Threads. “I want to thank everyone who has made the vision of providing excellent customer service and quality products a reality and for their relentless effort to make House of Threads the industrial distribution sector’s, “supplier of choice.” Würth immediately brings a wealth of knowledge and logistics solutions that propels us into an accelerated phase of growth. This consolidation will allow Würth House of Threads to enhance our customer service to existing accounts and support additional customers within the construction and OEM industries in the most professional manner.”

Würth House of Threads was started in 1963 by Fletcher Yeilding and has become one of the nation’s largest fastener distributors. The acquisition adds 108 employees, and more than 1,200 active customers. WINA is now comprised of nine companies servicing original equipment manufacturers by providing vendor managed inventory (VMI) programs through their proprietary brand, CPS® C-Parts Solutions. The acquisition of Würth House of Threads is the fourth for WINA in the last two years.
