Vyyo Experts to Be Featured Speakers at SCTE Events in United Kingdom, Atlanta

NORCROSS, Ga., Oct. 3 / -- Ron Shani, vice president of technology of Vyyo Inc.'s Israeli subsidiary, will discuss the company's solutions to help cable system operators generate new revenues at a Society of Cable Telecommunication Engineers conference in the United Kingdom this week. Vyyo is a supplier of broadband access equipment for cable system operators.

Vyyo has been invited to deliver a presentation on the ability of the its UltraBand(TM) spectrum overlay platform to substantially increase upstream and downstream bandwidth over existing HFC plant at the SCTE United Kingdom Autumn Lecture Meeting October 4 in London.

Later this month, Tee Harton, vice president of marketing for Vyyo, will discuss how cable system operators can leverage Ethernet and DOCSIS(R) to deliver T1 services at the SCTE Business Services Symposium October 18-19 in Atlanta.

Vyyo recently was named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Program for Georgia as one of the 50 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in the state based on its revenue growth over five years, from 2002-06.

"Cable system operators in Europe and worldwide universally face the need to create a bandwidth foundation for new revenue growth from both residential and business customers," said Wayne H. Davis, CEO of Vyyo. "Vyyo uniquely addresses that issue by providing the most cost-effective way to deliver HDTV lineups of 100 channels or more, HDTV on demand and T1, DOCSIS(R) 3.0 and Ethernet services."

The Vyyo UltraBand platform is designed to allow cable companies to substantially increase bandwidth to fiber-like performance, leveraging their existing infrastructure and at a fraction of the cost (under $125 per home passed) to build new fiber networks. UltraBand leverages higher frequencies on the existing coaxial cable, doubling downstream bandwidth and increasing upstream bandwidth by a factor of at least four. Using the UltraBand platform, cable system operators can create new bandwidth on a targeted basis for approximately 10% of the published cost per home of telco fiber builds, while maintaining their existing investment in their HFC networks and set-top boxes.

The Vyyo "T1-in-a-Box" solution offers cable system operators a simple, cost-effective way to generate a stable, high-margin revenue stream through the deployment of business services. The solution allows the deployment of T1 services following the same model that has served the cable industry's high- speed data rollout so well: a headend-based broadband hub supports T1 traffic over existing HFC plant to and from T1 modems at customer premises. The modem uses the same drop as existing video or high-speed data service. The Vyyo solution uses an enhanced version of the DOCSIS(R) protocol to provide the low latency and low jitter required for reliable T1 service.

About Vyyo Inc.

Vyyo Inc., a leading supplier of broadband access equipment, delivers to cable system operators a powerful, economic platform with fiber-like performance that extends their dominant bandwidth position over the competition and drives new revenues. Vyyo's spectrum overlay technology expands typical HFC (hybrid-fiber coax) network capacity in the "last mile," offering the most cost-effective solution that quadruples upstream and doubles downstream bandwidth to help operators deliver new, advanced residential and business services at a fraction of the cost of fiber deployments.
