Vytran to Highlight Optical Fiber Processing Solutions for Fiber Laser Production and Others at CLEO: 2013

Morganville, New Jersey – Vytran, a leading supplier of innovative optical fiber splicing and processing solutions, will emphasize its tools and techniques for creating optical fiber splices and fused-fiber components critical for fiber lasers and other applications at the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO) 2013 exposition. The exposition is scheduled for June 11-13, 2013, at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California.

“At CLEO, Vytran will highlight fiber processing solutions for creating high-strength, low-loss splices, high-performance combiners, tapers, end caps, and other fused components, which are essential building blocks for high-power fiber lasers,” said Jean-Michel Pelaprat, Vytran president and CEO. “We will also highlight solutions for producing fiber terminations, fiber probes and many other fiber components and assemblies for medical devices and sensing applications.”

Pelaprat further added, “We invite attendees to visit our booth and get an idea of what our unique tools can do to enhance fiber-based component development through volume production. We encourage attendees to discuss their individual fiber processing needs with our on-site specialists.”

Vytran’s product portfolio spans a range of discrete process tools and all-in-one workstations for optical fiber stripping, cleaning, cleaving, splicing, tapering, recoating and proof testing. The equipment is used in fiber laser, medical, aerospace and defense, scientific, sensing and telecom applications.

At its CLEO booth, Vytran will show a selection of its high-performance products. This includes Vytran’s newest splicer, the LFS-4100, which can be used on fibers as large as 1.25 mm in diameter. The LFS-4100 combines large-diameter fiber splicing capabilities with a high degree of user process control and simple operation, making it ideal for applications such as fiber laser manufacturing and producing many fiber-based medical devices.

The LFS-4100 splicer is designed to work with Vytran’s flagship GPX-3000 Series optical fiber glass processors. This compatibility allows users to efficiently transition manufacturing processes from development using the GPX unit to efficient, cost-effective volume production using an LFS-4100. Vytran will show a GPX-3000 Series optical fiber glass processor at its CLEO booth, along with a CAS-4000 Series splicer for high-volume manufacturing, and an LDC-400 large-diameter fiber cleaver.

Vytran’s CLEO: 2013 booth number is 1922. For added convenience, attendees can schedule booth appointments by contacting Jim Stathis, Vytran sales manager, at jstathis@vytran.com  or by emailing sales@vytran.com.
