Vynckier: Conquering Obstacles for St. Jude

On October 6th, Vynckier Enclosure Systems competed, and crushed, a 5K race and obstacle course. Over 1600 dashers raced across the sand in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® on a course located on East Beach in Galveston, TX.

The course started out with about a 1 mile run that lead up to the first of ten grueling obstacles. The next 2 miles were broken up by ditches to trudge through, walls to scale, tunnels and quick sand. There were even flames to leap over before reaching the finish line.

Once the participants thought they could take no more, they were met at the finish line with live music and refreshments. The weather and after party were a perfect conclusion to such a strenuous afternoon.

The event was held in support of St. Jude's team of researchers who battle much tougher obstacles on a daily basis in search of cures for some of the toughest cases of cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. Vynckier raised $470 to contribute to these efforts.

Vynckier Enclosure Systems participating teammates included:

Aaron Banks

Natalie Hart

George King

Myrna King

Monty Ortiz

Janet Tillmans
