New Rochelle, NY July 5, 2006 -- Symbio Technologies' success in overseas exports was recognized on June 19 by the U.S. Department of Commerce, who awarded the company an Export Achievement Certificate. The Export Achievement program recognizes small- and medium-sized U.S. businesses that have either successfully entered the international marketplace for the first time or have entered a new market. In the last several years, Symbio Technologies, an innovator in diskless thin client technology, has established business relationships with value added resellers on every continent of the world.

The award was presented by Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY) at a Business Leaders Roundtable discussion held at the Performing Arts Center of Purchase College. The event was sponsored by the Westchester Export Assistance Center, the local branch of the U.S. Commerce service, and provided area companies with the opportunity to discuss issues impacting their business, either locally or internationally.

Joan Kanlian, Director of the Westchester Export Assistance Center, noted Symbio Technologies' strong entrance into the overseas market and indicated that the award was in recognition of that success.

Accepting the award on behalf of Symbio Technologies, the company's CFO, Lewis Tischler, praised the support offered to the company by both Ms. Kanlian and Susan Widmer, the Senior International Trade Specialist with the Export Center.

"Your office introduced us to BuyUSA.com," noted Tischler. "We also took advantage of a program through which we supplied a U.S. commercial representative in Australia with data sheets about our products that he distributed at a CeBIT show. As a result, we recently signed our first Australian value added reseller."

Symbio Technologies has exported significant quantities of products to six foreign countries including Australia, Canada, Hungary, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Sales to Canada make up the bulk of the sales at 80.7%, followed by Hungary at 12.4% and the United Kingdom at 5.3%.

Looking towards the future, Tischler said, "Due largely to the impact of foreign sales on our small company, we have been able to hire two new employees. When we are able to obtain venture capital funding, Symbio Technologies may add as many as 30 new employees over the next three years."
