Transgard Hires Ryan Escure as Product Development Engineer

YORK, Pa – TransGard, which has installed proven animal-prevention fencing at more than 3,000 substations in North America, announced today that Ryan Escure has joined the company as its new Product Development Engineer.

In that role, Escure’s focus will be to develop enhanced features to the current TransGard products and to expand the product line with new ideas. Escure will also work to expand TransGard’s footprint in sectors like agriculture and oil & gas production.

TransGard manufactures the only patented substation fencing that deters climbing animals by delivering a mild electric shock — a humane technique that, according to IEEE, offers the most effective barrier against animal incursion. TransGard prevents outages caused by squirrels, snakes, raccoons and other animals.

In 2012, Escure developed an electric fence sensor that would send out text messages when a problem was detected. This sensor has since been deployed in over 20 different countries and is used in high-end industrial and residential perimeter security fencing, pest deterrent fencing, and livestock fencing.

Since 2014, he has worked on the development of bi-directional remote terminal units, which interface with many different sensors and systems, from simple analog and digital sensors to full computing programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drive units. All communicating through the cellular network.

“Ryan’s experience in electrical engineering, and proven history of making technical improvements to products makes him a singular asset for TransGard,” said Bill Reichard, TransGard’s president.

In addition to his independent work, Escure has worked as an engineer in varying capacities at Hewlett-Packard and Nikon Precision at Intel’s research and development site in Hillsboro OR.

TransGard, based in York, Pennsylvania, delivers patented fencing exclusively engineered to eliminate substation outages caused by climbing animals. TransGard has installed fences at more than 3,000 substations in the U.S. and Canada. For more information or to view case studies, visit www.transgardfence.com.
