Towerstream Selected as Finalist for Best of WiMAX World USA Awards' Industry Choice


MIDDLETOWN, R.I. and PHOENIX, Sept. 26 -- xchange magazine announced today that Towerstream (NASDAQ:TWER), a leading fixed wireless Internet provider currently operating in eight major metropolitan areas, has been selected as a finalist to receive the Industry Choice Best of WiMAX World USA 2007 Award for its nationwide network. This is the second year in a row that Towerstream has been chosen as a finalist. The awards recognize leaders in the development and deployment of WiMAX technologies.

Nominations were open to exhibitors, sponsors and presenters of the WiMAX World USA Conference and Expo, Sept. 25-27 in Chicago, IL. Having received more than 80 submissions, a select judging panel of experts from the WiMAX community narrowed the field to 16 finalists, including Towerstream's network. It is now up to their peers to determine the winner.

Conference delegates will vote for the Industry Choice Award at the event, and the winner will be announced during the WiMAX World USA Awards presentation following the close of the first day's convention sessions. Hosted by Eliot Weinman, conference co-chair and president of Trendsmedia, the events and publishing division of Yankee Group that produces WiMAX World Conferences & Expos, and by Kelly Teal, Business & Regulatory Editor and Tara Seals, associate editor, of xchange, the awards also will be given to outstanding WiMAX technology innovators in six additional categories. All winners will be featured in the November issue of xchange as well as on the WiMAX World and xchange Web sites.
