Thirty Companies Visit Mate Precision Tooling for "Tour of Excellence"

Anoka, Minnesota: Thirty of Minnesota's leading manufacturing companies visited Mate Precision Tooling on the "Tour Of Excellence," which is designed to provide insight into the latest manufacturing technologies.

Sponsored by the Manufacturers Alliance, Mate's team leaders shared many of the company's latest advanced manufacturing systems and processes with representatives from Midwest-based precision medical device, military and aerospace manufacturers.

Mate designs, manufactures and markets multiple lines of precision tooling products for CNC punch presses. The company has gained a worldwide reputation for excellence in quality, delivery and service. Mate sells tooling to customers in 65 countries with over 55 percent of its market now outside of the United States.

Mate provided Tour Of Excellence participants with a complete organizational presentation of its product portfolio designed to meet the changing needs of the fabricating industry, and an overview of all phases of its manufacturing and customer service operations. In addition to the tool manufacturing processes, tour participants viewed demonstrations of Mate tools punching complex parts and assemblies.

"The Tour Of Excellence is a great way for Mate to give back to area industry and promote growth within our economy," stated John Galich, marketing manager and one of Mate's presenters. "Mate was named 2009 Manufacturer of the Year because of our willingness to share our knowledge and best practices to help other manufacturers succeed, especially in a recovering manufacturing environment. We attribute our success to intensive peer-to-peer training, highly motivated employees and a long term commitment to Lean and Baldrige initiatives that were explained in this Tour Of Excellence."
