Thermal Technology Sponsors International Sintering School

SANTA ROSA, Calif., March 14, 2011 -- Thermal Technology, a leading manufacturer of sintering equipment, crystal growth equipment and high temperature furnace systems, is sponsoring the International Spring School on Field Assisted Sintering Technique (FAST) at Technische Universitat Darmstadt in Darmstadt, Germany on March 20 to 26.

The session features experts from around the world and offers an overview of all relevant scientific and technological aspects of sintering under the influence of electric current, also known as spark plasma sintering (SPS), pulsed electric current sintering (PECS) and field assisted sintering technique (FAST).

Thermal Technology's manager of product development, Daniela Fredrick, Ph.D., will lecture on solutions for future growth of the Pulsed Electric Current Sintering (PECS) industry and will discuss simultaneous, multiple sampling as well as overcoming limitations to sample shape and size.

Fredrick earned her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from University of California, Davis specializing in combustion synthesis and novel sintering techniques.

Thermal Technology designs and manufactures crystal growing systems and high temperature vacuum and controlled atmosphere furnaces for the advanced processing of metals, ceramics, glass and quartz. Thermal Technology has 60 years of experience with more than 3000 installations in 40 countries.
