The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium Announces Keynote Speakers for IntelliCAD World Meeting

Portland, OR Sept 27, 2006 The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC), today announced keynote speakers for the 3rd annual IntelliCAD World Meeting. Neil Peterson, CTO, Open Design Alliance, and Keith Mountain, CEO, Spatial will give separate keynote presentations at the event.

The IntelliCAD World Meeting is a multi-day conference for people interested in IntelliCAD, IntelliCAD members, and the IntelliCAD development team. This year's event will take place October 11-13, 2006 at the Manteo Resort in Kelowna, British Columbia Canada.

Keynote Neil Peterson will discuss the features of DWGdirect, a C++ library developed and maintained by the Open Design Alliance, which is also the core library upon which IntelliCAD 7 is being built. DWGdirect provides read/write access to the data in DWG/DXF files, and also provides a core set of database operations, including editing and rendering applications. Peterson will also discuss the new DRX SDK, which will give IntelliCAD users the ability to create custom objects and applications.

Keith Mountain's keynote presentation focuses on the developmental freedom application developers can realize by utilizing software components as opposed to PLM development platforms. Although the number of PLM platform providers is limited, each provides proprietary standards and development tools, which can be costly and slow return on investment. By utilizing software components such as those provided by Spatial, application developers can still plug into the power of a PLM system without the additional development costs and delays. Additionally, they can plug into any PLM installation, not just those of a single PLM vendor.

"I am delighted to announce the keynote speakers of this years event," said Arnold van der Weide, ITC President. "Both speakers have the ability to deliver great value to the users and developers of IntelliCAD technology. Their discussions will provide an overarching forum for attendees to share their thoughts and ideas with each other, to the benefit of everyone."

The IntelliCAD conference will also include business and development seminars led by experts in IntelliCAD Technology. Business topics will include marketing, supporting, and managing CAD application development ventures. Development topics include creating successful CAD applications for IntelliCAD, working with APIs, and discussions about IntelliCAD development plans.
