Teradata Becomes an Underwriter of the International Institute for Analytics

First practitioner-led analytics research community also underwritten by SAS, Intel and Accenture

SAN DIEGO and DAYTON, Ohio, Oct. 26 -- Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC), the world's largest company focused solely on data warehousing and enterprise analytics, today announced it has become a founding underwriter of The International Institute for Analytics (IIA), a worldwide community of analytics professionals who seek objective, balanced answers to daily business questions. Other IIA underwriters include SAS, Intel and Accenture.

IIA was founded by world-famous analytics researcher and author Tom Davenport to drive critical industry conversations to advance the use of analytics in the commercial, government, and non-profit sectors. IIA understands that analytics practitioners now need a confidential environment to find independent research, share ideas, and progress in their careers.

"IIA was formed out of a need for a forum where business intelligence and analytics executives can come together to exchange ideas, generate research, and collectively build skills to help their organizations stimulate growth and competitive advantage," said Tom Davenport, IIA co-founder, Babson College Professor and author of the business bestseller, Competing on Analytics. "I am truly delighted to have the endorsement and support of Teradata, provider of a powerful and award-winning platform for advanced analytics, and the industry leader in enterprise data warehousing. Now is the time for any analytic professional or organization to consider membership and begin reaping the benefits of a robust membership community of practicing analytics professionals, a proprietary database of research content, and an exclusive analytics faculty group."

Joining the IIA as faculty members from Teradata are Bill Franks, chief analytics officer for the Global SAS Program, and Dr. Judy Bayer, director of advanced analytics for Teradata EMEA.

"The IIA is a great forum for sharing research and networking among peers. It will be a terrific way to keep up on the latest analytic trends and methods, as well as the results of the original research the IIA will be sponsoring and funding," said Franks. "IIA leadership will be on-site during the 2010 Teradata PARTNERS User Conference , the SAS M2010 Conference and the SAS Premier Business Leadership Series, educating potential members on the benefits and rewards of membership."
