Ten Companies form IDEX Health & Science to Provide Highly Precise, Small-Scale Fluidics Solutions

Northbrook, IL, USA, (Date) --In its annual report for the year 2006, IDEX Corporation, a publicly traded company with more than $1 billion in sales of highly engineered fluidics components and sub-systems, formally designated ten businesses acquired since 1995 as its new Health & Science Technologies segment.

"Each of the Health & Science companies is a leader in a particular fluidics technology or technologies," commented Robert K. Brinley, president of the newly formed segment. "Each brings both the complementary technology and functional excellence needed to support small-scale applied fluidics solutions in rapidly growing markets. Current applications range from analytical instrumentation, clinical diagnostics, medical equipment and implantable devices to food & beverage processing, microelectronics and transportation."

The companies comprising IDEX Health & Science, along with their core technologies, include:

o Eastern Plastics (Bristol, Connecticut, USA): manifolds and high-precision machined components;

o Gast Manufacturing (Benton Harbor, Michigan, USA): vacuum pumps and compressors;

o Ismatec (Glattbrugg, Switzerland): peristaltic pumps;

o Jun-Air (Norresundby, Denmark): ultra-quiet, clean-air compressors;

o Micropump (Vancouver, Washington, USA): gear and micro-annular gear pumps;

o Rheodyne (Rohnert Park, California, USA): high- and low-pressure valves;

o Sapphire Engineering (Pocasset, Massachusetts, USA): precision dispense pumps, components, and flow cells;

o Systec (New Brighton, Minnesota, USA): degassers and debubblers;

o Trebor International (West Jordan, Utah, USA): air-operated, double-diaphragm pumps; and

o Upchurch Scientific (Oak Harbor, Washington, USA): fittings and tubing
