TelCove Completes Telecom Infrastructure Upgrade in Buffalo's Regional Business Community



PITTSBURGH, Pa. and BUFFALO, N.Y., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- TelCove, a leading provider of business critical telecommunications services to enterprise customers and carriers, recently completed a major network upgrade in the Buffalo, N.Y. metro area. The network upgrade included installing Metro-Dense Wave Divisional Multiplexing (MDWDM) technology and was designed to accommodate growing regional demand for next-generation telecommunications services like enterprise Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP), disaster recovery/business continuity services and 10-Gigabit metropolitan Ethernet service. The project investment alone totaled approximately $800,000.

TelCove now has 411 route miles of dense embedded fiber-optic cable in the metro Buffalo area, which extends into Niagara County. The fully-redundant SONET based fiber-optic network supports 186 "on-net" buildings in the city of Buffalo and more than 1,000 business customers overall.
