Tektronix Extends Technical Education Seminar Series With DesignInsight Fall 2006

BEAVERTON, Ore., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE:TEK), a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced an extension for its DesignInsight 06 seminar series, taking place in 8 cities across the US during Oct. 31-Nov. 16. DesignInsight Fall 06 will provide in-depth information and hands-on learning focused on the latest high-speed serial data and digital RF test technologies and methodologies to advance and simplify design and test.

With two distinct focus areas, engineers are able to select the topic area most applicable to their test needs:

o High-Speed Serial Data -- attendees will gain valuable insight on key
measurement techniques for debug, validation and compliance testing of
next generation high-speed serial standards such as PCI Express, HDMI
and Serial ATA.

o Digital RF -- The explosion of digital RF has created a highly complex
technology environment. With the advances in DSP and availability of
low cost CMOS, Digital RF has enabled the proliferation of technical
advances in several industry areas: amplifier test, Radar, and software
defined radio. This seminar is divided into three separate tracks
enabling attendees to learn about new measurement solutions that are
available to address the unique design and test challenges digital RF
creates.

The format of each seminar will be a mix of presentations and live demonstrations providing deep insight into test issues and methodologies. Attendees will be able to get hands-on experience with the equipment and test techniques during break sessions.

"I attended the spring session of DesignInsight 06 and was extremely pleased with the presentation content, industry developments, and learning format," said Joe Fockler, Applications Engineer at Texas Instruments. "Tektronix experts delivered great insight, with a good mix of humor, on new test methodologies that directly related to my needs and challenges. It was well worth my time to attend."

"Engineers face a multitude of challenges in their development efforts that can impact schedules," said Martyn Etherington, Vice President, Instruments Marketing, Tektronix, Inc. "As a leader in the test and measurement industry, we are able to harness considerable expertise to deliver the DesignInsight 06 technical education seminar. Customers will receive in-depth information regarding advanced test methodologies that can simplify design and test, and hands-on opportunities with the latest equipment."
