Tarari Wins Overall Best of Show at Network Systems Design Conference 2005

The Tarari® Regular Expression Content Processor 4 (RegEx 4) is acclaimed for
Both Best Enterprise Product and Overall Best of Show

SAN DIEGO, October 24, 2005 - Tarari, Inc., the award-winning acceleration company, last week won both the Overall Best of Show and Best Enterprise Product awards at the Network Systems Design Conference (NSDC) 2005 for their fourth-generation product line, RegEx 4 which accelerates multiple network security applications - from 10Mbps to 10,000Mbps (10Gbps) - all from a single API.

RegEx 4 is available both in silicon and as a pure-software component that is designed to accelerate and offload network devices, switches and servers. NSDC 2005 had over 1200 attendees with 50 vendors participating and this esteemed award is presented each year to the company that has the shown the best technology, innovation and potential market impact.

Tarari's RegEx 4 was declared the overall winner for its laser focus on network security - a high level area of concern and requirements for all organizations. The Tarari RegEx 4 product family when combined, for example, along with partner Intoto's IntruPro Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) software provides OEMS, ODMs and system builders with the ability to easily create hardware-accelerated multi-function security appliances (which IDC calls Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliances) that strike at the very heart of network security challenges. Packing the one-two punch, threats are minimized, if not dissipated, and network bottlenecks are exploded.

Tarari's RegEx 4 engine is also ideal for accelerating Anti-Spam appliances and Tarari is partnering with companies such as Mail-Filters to accelerate their StarEngine Anti-Spam offering.

"We are thrilled with the validation this award brings to the Tarari team and to our two partners Intoto and Mail-Filters, said Tarari CEO, Randy Smerik "OEMs and ODMs looking to build a strong Unified Threat Management appliance need look no further. Together we are providing the fastest route to market for a high-performing security solution. Right now their is a paradigm shift taking place in the industry as more and more companies are recognizing the need to add content processing acceleration hardware to their network security and XML offerings."

Tarari Regular Expression Content Processor 4
Tarari's RegEx 4 is the only product that can provide accelerated content evaluation for devices ranging from 10Mbps to 10Gbps with a single code base. Network security appliance manufacturers can address a wide range of devices, from SOHO/ROBO to carrier-class, with a single engineering effort. Whether implemented in a low-end embedded appliance with Tarari's Software RegEx or in a high-end, multi-gigabit UTM appliance with Tarari's hardware RegEx Content Processor, the code base and API are the same.

About Network Systems Design Conference 2005 (NSDC)
NSDC is the ideal place to learn about the most recent products and technologies from those on the cutting edge of development. Technical presentations are given by engineers and technologists, not marketing and sales, and describe only the newest networking components, many being announced for the first time at the show. The exhibition lets you meet with all the top suppliers in one place.
NSDC is the only show focused exclusively on networking components and networking system design, making it easy to find what you need.
