Tandberg Data Ships Symantec Backup Exec with Tape Storage Products

POWAY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 2005--Tandberg Data Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tandberg Data ASA (OSE:TAD), today announced that it will begin shipping Symantec Backup Exec for Windows Servers QuickStart Edition backup and recovery software from Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC) with selected versions of its StorageLoader(TM), LTO tape drives and SLR tape drives.
Symantec Backup Exec is the world's leading backup software application and the QuickStart Edition is ideal for single server environments supporting tape drives and autoloaders. As the needs of users evolve, their Backup Exec QuickStart software can be upgraded, through Symantec's worldwide sales channel, to the full version of Symantec Backup Exec for Windows Servers.
