Sterling Contract Packaging Announces Major Expansion in Moore, South Carolina
Rapid Growth Leads Contract Packager to New Space
Spartanburg, SC – Sterling CPI, a full-service contract packaging company, announced that they have purchased 29 acres of land in the Tyger River Industrial Park, located in Moore, SC. With this land, Sterling CPI will construct a state of the art 140,000 square foot manufacturing and warehousing facility. The land will also allow the company to expand the building by more than 100,000 square feet, in the future. Due to rapid growth over the last several years, Sterling CPI was prompted to find a space capable of handling all of their needs. As of today, the company is operating from three facilities in Spartanburg, SC. The new facility will allow Sterling CPI to manage 100% of their business under one roof.Â
With direct access to interstate Highways 85 and 26, the new facility is located at the intersection of SC Highway 290 and SC Highway 221. Also in close proximity to the Greer, SC Inland Port and less than 200 miles from the Port of Charleston, the Tyger River Industrial Park is becoming a very popular location for manufacturing and warehousing in the Upstate of SC.Â
Of the company’s recent announcement, President and CEO Michael Hastings said “This is a major move for us but one that is greatly needed to serve our existing and future customers. We are very proud to be a part of the Tyger River development and to call the Upstate our home for the last 19 years. This expansion will allow Sterling to offer our customers additional services and operate much more efficiently.”
The construction on Sterling’s new facility will begin in October and is scheduled to be completed by August 1, 2016. The transition of their existing facilities and addition of new equipment is anticipated to be completed by December 1, 2016. Sterling’s current staff of 120 employees is expected to grow by 20 percent over the next two years.
