San Jose, Costa Rica - Sterigenics, the world's leader provider of
contract sterilization and ionization services for medical device, pharmaceutical and food industries, inaugurated today its newest plant for Ethylene Oxide sterilization in Costa Rica.

With an initial investment of $ 9.5 M and expansion plans for an additional $6 M in the
medium term, the facility will have a processing capacity of over 2 million cubic feet.

Sterigenics will provide their services from Costa Rica to a regional and international
portfolio of high profile clients for whom sterilization processes are an essential part of its business.

In progressive steps, Sterigenics will provide from this advantaged location the most
utilized sterilization technologies: Ethylene Oxide and, eventually, Gamma Radiation to
process medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotechnological items, human and pet
food, cosmetics among other advanced applications.

According to the Minister of Foreign Trade, Anabel González: "a key element of the
success of the sector of life sciences in the country lies in the strength and
complementarity of the conglomerate. Particularly because together with multinational
companies already operating in the country there are a number of specialized suppliers
that directly support its operation, providing key products and services. Sterigenics is just a perfect example of an essential service provider for the sector and its arrival is a positive impact on the performance of Costa Rica to host foreign direct investment in this hightech industry."

Working in the Americas, Europe and Asia, Sterigenics is the largest and most innovative
company in its field with a network of now 40 facilities. The Costa Rica EO facility is the most advanced and safest of its kind in the world.

The facility is compliant with the FDA requirements and Californian Health and Safety
codes, the most stringent globally in the field. This plant model not only meets but exceeds the emission control requirements of the EPA of United States.

Sterigenics is currently in the process of adopting practices to mitigate their Carbon
emissions in order to achieve Carbon Neutrality in its process as soon as possible.

"Sterigenics concern for safety and environmental care have demonstrated conclusively
that high technology and environment can coexist in harmony. This is a primary reason for Sterigenics to elect Costa Rica to base its most advanced plant, an operations center that will serve as a model of excellence for the rest of its global operations", said Sergio Salas, VP of Operations for Latin America.

Costa Rica has been characterized by generating an enabling field for the development
of technology companies focused on human welfare.

"This Central American country is well known for its strategic geographic location,
professional quality of its workforce, rich biodiversity and its efforts to protect nature as invaluable assets for the country and the world. That's an incentive for companies sharing a similar philosophy as Sterigenics", pointed out Michael Mulhern, Sterigenics CEO.

Meanwhile, Gabriela Llobet, General Director of CINDE added: "for companies businesses
to have available more options and the type of services like those provided Sterigenics,
means: reducing costs and time, and the ability to perform all steps in the production of components in Costa Rica. So our country reaffirms its position as a competitive platform to access world markets since companies can manufacture / assemble, sterilize and ship directly from Costa Rica to final customers. Sterigenics is also a name that brings credibility within the industry".

According to data provided by the Costa Rican Coalition for Development Initiatives
(CINDE), in Costa Rica have been installed a total of 50 companies in the field of life
sciences, which employ about 15,500 Costa Rican employees.

As part of this Grand Opening, Sterigenics made a substantial donation to the
Technological Institute of Costa Rica (ITCR), for the production of a documentary video
aimed to the international promotion of the academic and research activities of the
School of Biotechnology of this prestigious educational institution.

This donation is the first solid step for the subsequent signing of a technical cooperation agreement between Sterigenics and ITCR -one of the most prestigious technical universities in the country-, which will promote joint research and student internships at the new facility.
