StackCellâ„¢ Two-Stage Flotation Technology to be Featured at Copper 2019
Delta, BC— Eriez® Flotation Division Global Managing Director Eric Wasmund, Ph.D., will present a new paper spotlighting the company’s innovative StackCell™ two-stage flotation technology as part of the technical program at Copper 2019, part of the Conference of Metallurgists (COM), which takes place August 18-21 in Vancouver, British Columbia. COM is considered the premiere event in Canada for the metallurgy and materials community.
The paper, “A High Rate Mechanical Flotation Cell for Base Metal Applications," explains how the efficiency of the industrial flotation process can be significantly improved by using the principle of a two-stage unit operation. Eriez’ StackCell product line is designed using this approach. The paper explains why this approach is so beneficial and includes two industrial case studies which highlight the potential metallurgical and commercial advantages of the StackCell. The paper also covers scale-up criteria, maintenance and operability issues, layout and cost savings.
“A High Rate Mechanical Flotation Cell for Base Metal Applications” was created through the collaboration of five Eriez executives. In addition to Wasmund, Eriez Flotation Division authors include Homie Thanasekaran, Senior Process Engineer, Nee San Yap, Ph.D., Process Engineer, Eric Yan, Technical Director as well as Michael Mankosa, Ph.D., Executive Vice President of Global Technology at Eriez World Headquarters.
