Speedware Joins the Mainframe Migration Alliance - Company Focuses on Providing Legacy Modernization Services
MONTREAL, July 9 -- Speedware Ltd., a subsidiary of Activant Solutions Inc. and a leading provider of innovative enterprise software solutions and productivity tools, today announced its membership in the Mainframe Migration Alliance (MMA). As a member, Speedware joins Microsoft Corp. and other key industry partners in helping companies migrate mission-critical enterprise applications from their proprietary mainframe computers onto smaller, flexible and cost-effective systems running the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 platform.
Using Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft .NET technology, the MMA helps businesses migrate their applications to the Windows platform, permitting them to benefit from flexible and open systems. The MMA goals are to help companies understand how to reduce the total cost of ownership of maintaining expensive legacy mainframe systems and improve responsiveness to changing business needs, while protecting their investment in current mainframe applications.
