Speedline MPM Accela Printer to Preview High Speed Inspection and Closed Loop Control

APEX 2006 - Anaheim - 8 February 2006 - Speedline Technologies, Inc. will take a bold
step forward in quality management in the printer at APEX 2006 with a preview of the
application of 2D, BridgeVision® and StencilVision(TM) operating at line speed on the show
floor. Also, in collaboration with Agilent Technologies, an Accela will be networked with a
Medalist SP50 AOI system to perform closed loop control for alignment of printed deposits.

Building on the revolutionary parallel processing method for high throughput, one MPM
Accela printing system will operate in continuous run mode demonstrating a new inspection
technology in development for release later this year. This system is designed for
manufacturers requiring high volume throughput with high yield performance. Its
foundation is Speedline's patented texture based inspection algorithms. This method uses a
new camera system which manages the gantry motion and field of view in a new way to
perform full 2D inspection of either or both the substrate and the stencil at line speed. This
method will report the data to SPC for management of the process, including the data for
BridgeVision® and StencilVision(TM) inspection. This machine will also show other advanced
process control methods for process verification and traceability utilizing bar code
identifiers.

The Closed Loop Demonstration will be conducted jointly with Agilent Technologies in follow-
up to a paper being presented at the Technical Conference: Closed Loop Process Control
in the Solder Paste Printing Process: Presented by Joe Belmonte, Process Manager,
Advanced Process Development, Session S16, Equipment II - Closed Loop. Thursday,
February 9, 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM. Further discussion regarding this technique will be
presented at the Speedline booth throughout the show hours.

Customers have been seeking fast and automated methods for improving process control.
These requests have continued to increase with the advent of the conversion to Pb-Free
processing and further progression towards fine-feature printing. Speedline is responding to
the needs outlined in our customer roadmaps by providing a printer that can both produce
at very high throughput and achieve very high yield performance at the same time for the
most challenging applications. The methods to be shown at APEX 2006 build on the
advanced technology of the Accela to offer new and useful tools for process control.
