SME's Advanced Manufacturing Media Seeks Nominations for Fifth Annual 30 Under 30 Recognition

Do you know a young person with the potential to lead manufacturing in the future?

(DEARBORN, Mich.) — Advanced Manufacturing Media is seeking nominations of outstanding young manufacturing and engineering students, professionals and educators for recognition in its July 2017 issue of Manufacturing Engineering magazine. Advanced Manufacturing Media is a part of SME.

A recent SME-conducted survey revealed that misperceptions and myths persist about manufacturing offering low-reward, unchallenging work in a dirty environment. The students and young professionals who have been selected for 30 Under 30 recognition in the past prove those perceptions wrong, says Jim Sawyer, editor-in-chief of Manufacturing Engineering. “These young people are the new face of a new manufacturing — they’re exploring, researching, implementing and making advanced manufacturing a whole new American enterprise.”

Nominations for Advanced Manufacturing Media’s 2016 30 Under 30 issue numbered over 100, more than any previous year, with submissions from multiple industries — automotive, aerospace, additive, medical, automation, robotics and more.

Feb. 15, 2017, is the deadline for nominating this year’s class of potential honorees. Visit Advanced Manufacturing.org to learn more about 30 Under 30 and to nominate a candidate.
