Sonic Foundry, FETC Partner to Create First Hybrid Conference

One of the largest K-12 educational technology conferences goes hybrid via partnership with Sonic Foundry

MADISON, Wis., Feb. 1, 2011 - Sonic Foundry, Inc. (Nasdaq: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting, lecture capture and knowledge management, today announced that company's Event Services group will stream FETC, one of the most successful conferences in the United States devoted to K-12 educational technology. The conference takes place this week in Orlando, Fla.

The opening address plus two concurrent session tracks will be webcast for on-demand viewing. In addition to providing webcasts of the sessions, FETC will complement the webcasts with discussion within its robust social media community. Attendees both remote and in-person can follow twitter.com/fetc for conference updates.

"We've long understood the value of streaming and archiving conference sessions. We're pleased be working again with Sonic Foundry Event Services, a long time trusted partner, as we bring the knowledge shared at our conference to an even wider audience," said Mike Eason, executive director, FETC, 1105 Media.

FETC 2011 is the content-rich conference that brings education leaders and technology experts together to exchange techniques and strategies for teaching and learning success. Known worldwide for its outstanding program, FETC provides educators and administrators the opportunity to explore the integration of classroom technology across the curriculum--from kindergarten to college--through hands-on exposure to the latest hardware, software and successful strategies. FETC offers a wealth of information for all education professions--teachers, principals and deans, district administrators, curriculum designers, media specialists, technology directors and others.

The conference will be webcast by Sonic Foundry's Event Services, a leading provider of webcasting for hybrid events and virtual conferences. The group supplies technical webcasting services and expertise to organizations who seek to complement their conference or event with viewing over the web. Since its launch in January 2007, the Event Services group has provided live and on-demand webcasting for clients ranging from Fortune 500 corporations and university associations to sporting events and charitable organizations.
