Software Developer to Expand Its Fort Wayne Corporate Headquarters, R&D Center

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (July 14, 2008) - Software development firm Logikos Inc. announced today it will expand its national headquarters and research and development center here, creating more than 30 new high-paying jobs.

The company, which develops custom software and systems integrations for the automotive, medical and government markets, will invest more than $5 million to build and equip a 26,000 square-foot corporate headquarters and research and development facility on Dawson's Creek Boulevard on Fort Wayne's north side.

"Decisions like the one Logikos is making to continue to invest in Indiana reflects a growing confidence in the business climate in our state. This is exactly the kind of company we need to balance and diversify our economy," said Governor Mitch Daniels.

Logikos, whose software applications range from custom interfaces for police car computers to wireless logistics tracking systems, has a workforce of nearly 100 at its Fort Wayne center. The company plans to begin hiring software engineers and executive staff in 2008 ahead of the completion of its new corporate facility in approximately 18 months.

"We believe that housing our employees in an efficient, creative and productive environment will enhance our ability to maintain and attract additional high-level engineering talent that Logikos' customers in the medical, automotive, defense and electronics industries appreciate and expect." said Gregg Weisman, president of Logikos. "This new facility will provide that environment, and we are excited to take this important step."

Established in 1978 as Software Consulting Specialists, the company has grown from an on-site consulting service provider to an employee-owned and operated custom software development firm that has earned ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System certification.

"This is terrific news for Fort Wayne as well as for Logikos," stated Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry. "It has been a pleasure to host Logikos in our city for the past 30 years. This is a company that has evolved over time, with rapid growth over the last four years. To see this success in a local company, with needs for a larger workspace as well as additional employees, is an optimistic sign for our community.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Logikos up to $235,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $61,500 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. The state will also provide Fort Wayne with an infrastructure grant of up to $25,000 to assist in off-site infrastructure improvements. The Fort Wayne Common Council will consider property tax abatement on the project and the City of Fort Wayne will assist in offsetting other costs associated with the project.

Logikos' announced expansion in Fort Wayne follows the May announcement of compounded silicon rubber supplier US Silicones' decision to expand its headquarters and manufacturing operations in the northeast Indiana city, creating more than 20 new jobs.
