Soconord Corporation BTA Services Launches Precision Deep Hole Drilling Facility
New Plant Set to Begin Operations in Fourth Quarter of 2012
Houston, TX — The Soconord Group, a worldwide supplier of steel tubular products for the oil and gas industry, announces the launch of a precision deep hole drilling facility by one of its subsidiaries, Soconord Corporation BTA Services in Houston, Texas. The Houston facility and yard are being prepared and renovated for a massive, state-of-the-art precision deep hole boring drilling project.
The facility is set to take possession of new BTA machinery that will give Soconord the capability of drilling precision internal bores of various diameters from 2 to 3.5 inches into 31-foot-long solid alloy steel bars. The bars are 4145H modified, heat-treated alloy steel with outside diameters from 3 to 12 inches, manufactured to API 7-1 standards for usage in the oil and gas industries.
