(DEARBORN, Mich.) — As proud gold sponsors of Manufacturing Day 2015, SME and its subsidiaries, the SME Education Foundation and Tooling U-SME, will be hosting various activities in honor of Manufacturing Day on Oct. 2, as well as throughout the month of October.

Manufacturing Day features nearly 2,000 events nationally among industry, academia and professional organizations including tours and speakers to give modern manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By illustrating contemporary opportunities and industrial environments, manufacturers can begin to address skilled labor shortages, connect with students and future generations.

“We’re pleased to have supported Manufacturing Day since its inception,” said Jeff Krause, executive director and CEO of SME. “And we’ll continue to offer access to our national network, and expertise to introduce and showcase manufacturing opportunities to a new audiences every year.”
