SME Education Foundation announces two new scholarships.

SME Education Foundation Announces Two New Scholarships in Partnership with Focus: HOPE



E. Wayne Kay Scholarship Fund will support undergraduates seeking degrees in manufacturing engineering or technology.



Application opens Nov. 1, 2014.



(DEARBORN, Mich.,) – The SME Education Foundation is pleased to announce it will establish two new scholarships specifically for Focus: HOPE students pursuing careers in manufacturing, manufacturing technology or a closely related field. The application opens Nov. 1, 2014.



“The SME Education Foundation is committed to supporting the next generation of the manufacturing workforce,” said SME Education Foundation President Brian Ruestow. “Partnering with Focus: HOPE on these new scholarships will allow us to further support the students who are the future of manufacturing.”



About the scholarships:



E. Wayne Kay/Focus: HOPE Scholarship: Applicants must have completed at least one term at a school affiliated with Focus: HOPE and be a part-time or full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology or a closely related field in the U.S.



E. Wayne Kay/Focus: HOPE Community College Scholarship: Applicants must be a part-time or full-time undergraduate students enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing or a closely related field at a two-year community college or trade school, affiliated with Focus: HOPE in the U.S. Also, applicants must have completed at least one term at the postsecondary institution, with less than 60 college credit hours completed.



There will be a total of 10, $3,000 awards split evenly between the two scholarships. For more information, visit smeef.org/scholarship.
