SiliconSystems Vice President to Participate in Expert Panel on Solid-State Storage at the 2007 Flash Memory Summit

Industry Veteran Gary Drossel to Present the Advantages of Solid-State Storage as a Hard Drive Replacement

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., July 24, 2007 - SiliconSystems, Inc., a world leader in advanced storage technology, today announced that the company's Vice President of Product Planning, Gary Drossel, has been selected to participate in a high-level panel of experts discussing the merits of solid-state storage at the Second Annual Flash Memory Summit. The panel is part of a special plenary session entitled "Flash in Computers" that will be held on August 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. PDT at the Santa Clara Marriot Hotel in Santa Clara, California. Rounding out the panel are speakers from industry leaders Dell, Intel, Microsoft and Samsung Electronics.

In his panel presentation, Drossel will identify market dynamics, trends and technology improvements that have enabled solid-state drives to become viable and cost-effective replacements for hard drives in many applications. Drossel will discuss how advances in solid-state storage technology in the areas of data protection, wear-leveling, security and drive lifespan monitoring have made it the optimal choice for use in applications requiring high performance, high reliability, multi-year product lifecycles and low power consumption.

"For the past decade, solid-state storage technology has continued to advance to where it has come into line with the storage budgets, performance and capacities needed for many embedded applications," said Drossel. "It is an honor to speak about the future of solid-state storage among such a distinguished group, so that together we may better educate the industry on what solid-state storage technology can offer."
