Signiant Announced as Platinum Sponsors for the New IPTV Zone at IBC2007

Zone attracts industry leaders

(London - 10 July 2007) Signiant, the leading developer of digital media distribution management solutions, has been announced today as Platinum Sponsor for the IPTV Zone at IBC2007. Following its successful launch at NAB 2007, Signiant will be exhibiting its robust and integrated solution to simultaneously manage, secure, automate and accelerate the movement of digital file based work flows on stands 201/2/3 and 301/2/3 within the IPTV Zone.

Many other leading IT, Telecom and Broadcast companies including Tandberg, Kasenna, Grass Valley and Texas Instruments have also signed-up to enter the new IPTV Zone as the European market for the delivery of broadcast content via the Internet begins to take off.

David Nortier, Managing Director of Signiant Europe views IBC and the IPTV as a launching zone for Signiant's international efforts. "Since its launch, Signiant has been adopted by leading broadcasters and post production facilities including NBC Universal, Current TV and Pepper. With the international audience that IBC attracts, we look forward to demonstrating how our complete digital media distribution management system can help global media companies take advantage of new business opportunities," said Nortier.

The IPTV Zone at IBC2007 has been designed as a visitor attraction and will bring together many of the organisations and technologies that are emerging as major forces in IPTV. It will therefore provide a unique opportunity for application developers, content providers and technology companies to showcase their capabilities at the heart of the broadcast industry's leading international conference and exhibition.

Running in parallel with the Zone will be a series of Business Briefings to which attendance is free. These briefings will examine some of the issues and opportunities arising from this revolution in broadcast content delivery in further detail and are intended to reinforce and complement the established peer reviewed, paid-delegate IBC Conference. Tom Ohanian, co-inventor of the Avid editing system, and Vice President of Product Management at Signiant, will be the feature speaker in a business briefing entitled: Empowering a Digital Media Supply Chain.

Commenting on the development of The IPTV Zone at IBC2007, Mike Crimp, Marketing Director, IBC commented: "We have seen a huge increase in interest in IPTV over the last year and the growth in the use of the Internet as a delivery mechanism will create enormous opportunities for both content creators and broadcasters. The IPTV Zone will be a major visitor attraction at this year's convention."

Alan Norman, Managing Director of IT Europa, which is working with IBC in developing and marketing the Mobile Zone, added: "Recent improvements in compression technologies and bandwidth availability are set to revolutionise the way in which we consume broadcast content. As IT, Telecoms and Broadcast technologies continue to converge; the delivery of compelling content via the Internet represents a major growth opportunity for vendors, content creators and service providers."

The Mobile Zone at IBC2007 is being jointly developed and marketed by IBC, IT Europa and BPL. The IBC2007 exhibition takes place from 7th - 11th September 2007 at the RAI, Amsterdam.
