Shuttleworth Receives Lockheed Star Award
Huntington, IN -Shuttleworth, Inc., has been awarded the Lockheed Martin (Electronic System Business Area) Star award.
Lockheed Martin Corporation presented Shuttleworth, Inc. with the STAR Supplier Award. This award is presented to Lockheed Martin subcontractors that achieve superb quality and delivery. Of Lockheed Martin's 9,000 vendors, only 86 have received the award, placing Shuttleworth in the top 1 percent of Lockheed Martin's suppliers.
In 2003 Shuttleworth, Inc. was chosen by Lockheed Martin as a subcontractor on the Automated Packaging Processing System (APPS). This is a multimillion-dollar package processing modernization program to upgrade the U.S. Postal Service's existing parcel processing network. The APPS system is used to sort bulk mail at major distribution centers across the country.
Parcels and bulk mail are dumped from large bins and go through an automatic sigulation and sortation process, and then are separated into bulk mail containers destined for specific post offices.
