Sensata Technologies Recognizes 2006 Supplier Excellence Award Winners


ATTLEBORO, Massachusetts | July 20, 2007 | Six suppliers have been selected to receive Sensata Technologies 2006 Supplier Excellence Award (SEA). Recipients were chosen from Sensata's worldwide supplier base as a result of their outstanding performance and continuous improvement in supplying materials, equipment and services to Sensata during 2006.

Global Operations Manager Robert Bartosh said, "Sensata's Supplier Excellence Award program is a key vehicle used to communicate Sensata's standard of excellence to its suppliers and to recognize the best. As Sensata strives to help its customers build differentiated products and bring them to the marketplace faster and at the lowest total cost, we rely on the support of our strategic suppliers to help us create value for our customers and shareholders."

The 2006 SEA winners included F&K Delvotec Inc. of Foothill Ranch, California; Mektec International Corporation of San Jose, California; Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. of Osaka, Japan; The Intec Group of Palatine, Illinois and their manufacturing partner, Intec Manufacturing Asia PTE. Ltd. of Singapore; and Penn United Technology Inc. of Cabot, Pennsylvania.

Sensata also singled out two other suppliers for special recognition. Polymer Plainfield Companies of Plainfield, Illinois was recognized for its global expansion activities to serve Sensata manufacturing sites from local markets. Major Electric & Supply Inc. of Providence, Rhode Island, was recognized for its support of Sensata's Facilities and Manufacturing Systems organizations.

The 2006 SEA winners were nominated by different organizations within Sensata worldwide, endorsed by Sensata's Commodity Procurement Team and approved by Sensata's Purchasing Steering Team. Nominees are evaluated on six criteria: cost, environmental responsibility, technology, responsiveness, assurance of supply and quality.

Sensata will present the awards to each supplier at their individual place of business to recognize the contributions and performance of their employees.
