Sendmail® Selects SenSage to Power ECOSys(TM) Auditor; the Industry's First Integrated Email Log Forensics and Audit Product

SenSage Accelerates Compliance and Time-to-Market Requirements for Solution Partners

SAN FRANCISO, April 4 / / -- SenSage, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise security analytics, today announced a OEM agreement with Sendmail, the leading provider of enterprise solutions for secure, dependable and compliant messaging, to create an integrated email audit and forensics product. Under the terms of the agreement, Sendmail will market and sell the Sendmail® ECOSys(TM) Auditor, which integrates SenSage's log management and security analytics technology. Sendmail is one of several leading solution partners that are expanding their product line through partnership with SenSage to address increased demand for compliance, reporting and audit.

"Audit requirements are moving outside traditional perimeter security sources and impacting mainstream applications; especially with customers in compliance-relevant industries," said Rob Ayoub, network security industry analyst at Frost & Sullivan. "SenSage's strategy to offer a robust and highly customizable event log management solution addresses this growing demand in the solution and service provider markets. The SenSage, Sendmail partnership illustrates this trend to expand compliance and auditing features."

Sendmail is a leading provider of email security and infrastructure solutions spanning from the gateway to the mailbox. Customers across 16 countries and the majority of the Fortune 1000 rely on Sendmail for their end-to-end email security and infrastructure needs. Sendmail customers require extensive capabilities to capture, report, investigate and optimize message transaction logs for audit, SLA governance and compliance purposes. To address this, Sendmail sought a customizable and scalable log management solution to provide to the mid-tier market, as well as address the massive log requirements from clients with large, distributed deployments. By partnering with SenSage, Sendmail extends its email security and infrastructure solutions by providing security analytics. The result is the industry's first email auditing product -- integrating log management, reporting and forensics from Sendmail solutions, with other email technologies like Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, Mirapoint Message Server, or Ironport Appliances (see www.sendmail.com/ecosysauditor ).

"The Sendmail ECOSys Auditor accelerates audit and reporting processes for organizations that require advanced email transaction reporting, analysis and compliance," said Richard Kreysar, president and CEO of Sendmail, based in Emeryville, CA. "SenSage is a critical enabler to bring this solution to market. After extensive evaluation, SenSage was selected for its customization, integration, modularity, performance and scale which provides the best approach to manage massive email event data stores."

Sendmail's partnership with SenSage is consistent with an overall industry trend of solution vendors taking progressive steps to integrate auditing and analytics technology into their product lines. Sendmail, as well as other SenSage partners such as Cerner in the health care IT market, are responding to the business opportunities created by government and industry-specific compliance regulations. These regulations require organizations to capture, retain and audit long-term infrastructure and application event log data. This data represents a rich information asset for organizations who must continually assess their security posture, track internal and external threats, and complete regular audits.

"Email is one of the most important classes of data in any forensic investigation because it's often one of the most prevalent vectors regarding governance, security threats and violations," said Jim Pflaging, CEO and president at SenSage. "We are excited to be selected and work with such a well recognized, trusted leader in secure messaging. Sendmail ECOSys Auditor represents a truly killer application to take advantage of our state-of-the-art security analytics technology, customization and integration capabilities.
