SenDEC Wins SMT Vision Award for Contract Services

SenDEC Recognized as Benchmark of Excellence Within Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Industry

SenDEC Corporation, a leading provider of contract electronics manufacturing services (EMS) has been selected as a winner for this year's SMT VISION Award for Contract Services. Instituted in 1991, the SMT VISION Awards honor the products, technologies and services that have shaped the PCB manufacturing industry over the past year. The award was presented to Ken Fiske, SenDEC President and CEO, on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in a ceremony at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center during the Apex/IPC Printed Circuits Expo.

This year's 16th Annual SMT VISION Awards competition featured 17 categories with finalists and award recipients being chosen by a panel of distinguished judges comprised of industry and academic representatives. Nominees for the SMT VISION Awards were evaluated on their ability to meet a significant industry challenge, creative application of a new or existing technology, overall quality and consistency of performance, economic merits, and throughput characteristics. Products and services were judged specifically on their innovation, cost-effectiveness, speed/throughput improvements, quality, ease of use, maintainability/repairability, and environmental responsibility.

SenDEC won the SMT VISION Award for Contract Services for its ability and proven track record in adding value to its customers through concept to completion electronics manufacturing services:

SenDEC sets itself apart from competitors by not merely building to a specification, but evaluating each assembly at quote and offering detailed design for manufacturability, assembly and test feedback based on 30 years of expertise. If implemented, this feedback will lower the assembly's total lifecycle cost by streamlining production, improving yields and minimizing the potential for field failures. This mentality starts with board layout and carries through to final assembly production. Besides providing invaluable DFM/DFA/DFT suggestions, SenDEC has the ability to quick-turn prototypes with its 24 prototype specialists; all IPC-610-A Class III certified to support military caliber workmanship. This group serves as a vital link between the customers' engineering teams and SenDEC's production department. Augmenting these value-added services, SenDEC is dedicated to creating customer value through a commitment to excellence including: a continuous investment in state-of-the-art equipment, processes and employee training; dedicated program management; locally managed distributor warehouses; flexible logistics programs...and an understanding that Quality and Customer Service are not departments, but a philosophy.

"We warmly congratulate the SMT VISION Awards winners. These products and services celebrated by SMT demonstrate the future of our industry, bringing innovation into surface mount manufacturing and driving electronics assembly to new capabilities and capacities. These 17 winning companies represent benchmarks of excellence that will improve how our readers do their jobs every day. The winners exemplify SMT's role in the industry as connecting technology to users. We are especially happy to take a few moments out of the hectic pace of IPC APEX to applaud you for winning this prestigious award," stated Gail Flower, Editor-in-Chief.

SenDEC has maintained consistent growth and has received both regional and national recognition recently. In addition to the SMT VISION Award for Contract Services, SenDEC was:
