SCO Announces SCO Tec Forum 2007

Annual SCO Conference to Offer Technical Training and Sessions for Customers, Partners and Developers on SCO UNIX and Mobile Technologies

LINDON, Utah, May 3/ -- The SCO Group, Inc., a leading provider of UNIX(R) software technology and mobile services, today announced the SCO Tec Forum 2007 conference for customers, resellers and partners. Now in its 21st consecutive year, SCO Tec Forum is a technical extension of the company's annual conference based on feedback gathered from partners and customers that recommended a more technically focused event. This year's conference, to be held August 5-7 at The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, will provide attendees with technical breakout sessions from SCO UNIX experts, hands on training by valued SCO partners, and best practices birds-of-a-feather sessions that will directly benefit SCO customers and their I.T. environments. With the stronger technical training focus this year, SCO is changing the name to "SCO Tec Forum" to note the technical emphasis.

"SCO UNIX, designed for industry standard Intel server hardware, has long been one of the highest performing, reliable, scalable and secure operating environments in the industry," said Sandy Gupta, chief technology officer and general manager, SCO. "With SCO Tec Forum, we're going to help customers get even more out of their SCO investments. Customers will gain a better understanding of how to manage upgrades to the latest SCO UNIX releases, develop new SCO UNIX applications and modernize existing ones, implement emerging mobile technologies and solutions, and integrate those mobile solutions within their SCO UNIX environment."

Converting UNIX Applications to GUI -- Some customers desire to move their text-based SCO UNIX applications to a graphical user interface. SCO Tec Forum will include sessions from SCO partners that will help customers quickly and easily convert their text-based applications to a GUI interface without having to reprogram their applications or change their operating environment -- saving valuable time and money.

Getting More from SCO UNIX -- SCO UNIX experts will provide customers with hands on training on the latest updates to SCO OpenServer and UnixWare to get the most out of their SCO UNIX environments.

Going Mobile -- Customers will learn about latest Me Inc. and SCO Mobile technologies. From personal productivity applications to managing and controlling SCO UNIX and Windows servers remotely from mobile devices, Me Inc. technologies can benefit virtually every customer.

SCO UNIX and Mobile Integration -- SCO will unveil the company's new mobility server technology that ties SCO UNIX to the company's mobile technologies. This innovation gives customers an integrated I.T. solution that significantly increases the power of their mobile applications through SCO server technologies.

SCO Vendor Fair -- Visit with SCO partners about the many hardware and software solutions that are certified for the SCO UNIX platform and also view some innovative mobile solutions.

SCO Forum is one of the longest running technology events in the high-tech industry for technical training and peer networking. Following SCO Tec Forum in 2007, the general SCO Forum event will be held in the Spring of 2008. Dates for SCO Forum 2008 will be announced later this year.
