SCO and HP Host Event for Mobile Technologies in Russia
Mobile event in Moscow features mobile services to help customers remotely manage and control Server, PC and Printer Systems
MOSCOW, Jan. 29 -- The SCO Group, Inc. The two companies and Russian channel partners will exhibit SCO's new Me Inc. mobile services, and specifically HipCheck, a new mobile service for remotely controlling and managing servers, PCs and printers from a smart phone. HipCheck helps system administrators to closely monitor, manage and control SCO UNIX and Windows servers, printers and PC systems, including systems running the newly released Windows Vista operating system. This invaluable mobile service helps companies to avoid employee down time and saves money by addressing potential server, PC and printer issues before they impact users.
Through HipCheck, system administrators are alerted early through their smart phone of various parameters and thresholds that systems are in danger of seeing, such as low disk space, out of memory errors, issues with printing queues, etc. As system administrators are alerted to potential problems, they can address those issues before they begin affecting employee productivity. HipCheck is the perfect solution for customers and solution providers who have to remotely manage decentralized server systems without any local system administrator staff.
The HipCheck mobile service taps into a powerful backend server technology called the Me Inc.
