Scheugenpflug Inc. Donates to the Shriners' Hospital for Children

For this year’s Holiday Season, Scheugenpflug Inc. is forgoing customer gifts and is supporting the Shriners’ Hospitals for Children instead.

The Shriners were established in 1870. They are best known for the Hospitals for Children that they administer and their red fezzes worn by the members.

The Shriners Hospitals for Children is a 22-facility healthcare network for children that started in 1922. Patients at the hospitals, who range in age from only a few months old up to the age of 18, are treated without regard to the family’s ability to pay. Nearly one million children from around the world have been treated at Shriners Hospitals.

Christian Geier, General Manager of the U.S. operation, presented the check at the Scheugenpflug offices in Kennesaw to the Kennesaw Mountain Shrine Club President Herman Johnson. Also in attendance were Secretary Bill Carver and Treasurer Mike Luke.

“I can think of no better way to capture the spirit of the Christmas season than to improve the lives of children,” Geier said. “We know the quality of companies and people who make up our customer base and we know that they would heartily support this donation.”

“To earn the trust and support of a company of the international stature of Scheugenpflug is both exciting and humbling,” said Herman Johnson, president of the shrine club. “Scheugenpflug is setting a standard that we hope will be emulated by others who want to show their respect and appreciation for their customers and, at the same time, make a meaningful, long-term impact that literally changes lives.”
