Schaeffler Group Standardizes on Pro/ENGINEER®
Automotive Supplier
Expands Deployment to 1,000 Seats Worldwide
NEEDHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 25, 2005--PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the
Product Development Company(TM), today announced that INA-Schaeffler KG in
Herzogenaurach, Germany, a leading supplier of rolling bearings and other
equipment for the international automotive industry, has expanded its
relationship with PTC and is deploying 1,000 seats of Pro/ENGINEER®
throughout the company worldwide.
Schaeffler first implemented the PTC software back in 1999 and has decided
to use it as the standard MCAD tool for the entire group which is formed by
the companies INA, LuK and FAG. Schaeffler estimates that within the next
two to three years Pro/ENGINEER will replace the company's remaining 2D and
3D systems. Most new seats will be installed at FAG, which was acquired by
Schaeffler three and a half years ago. FAG develops and manufactures rolling
and plain bearings, and track rollers for the automotive, aerospace and
machine tool industry.
