Saia-Burgess Announces RoHS compliant Solenoids

VANDALIA, OH ¡V Saia-Burgess Inc. announces the completion of a major initiative to transition all catalog standard Ledex"µ and Dormeyer"µ solenoids to RoHS compliance. This major initiative is in response to the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (ROHS) which became European Law in February 2003. This directive eliminates the use of hazardous substances in products that might eventually be destined for Europe.
For solenoid products, the major changes involved removal of hexavalent chromium and lead from plating, solder and lead wires. There is no change in product performance even under the most stringent test environment. This major initiative will help eliminate RoHS concerns for both current and future solenoid consumers.
