According to Gartner, "leaders" are vendors who are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction, have a proven track record of financial performance and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.

Published on September 29 by Gartner Inc., a premier research and advisory firm, the report evaluates the performance of 15 vendors based on their ability to execute and completeness of vision. In addition to a product's capabilities, vendors were evaluated on viability, installed bases, geographic distribution capabilities, customer support and satisfaction, management teams, and success in capitalizing on the company vision.
