RSA Security to Open Development Centre in Bangalore

Company plans to employ 400 people at the Centre by 2008

BANGALORE, India, April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- RSA Security Inc. (NASDAQ:RSAS), the global expert in protecting online identities and digital assets, today announced its plans to open the company's first development centre in India.

Sited in Bangalore, the centre will expand RSA Security's presence in India and enhance its expert competencies in developing identity and access management solutions to meet the emerging demands of the international security market. The Bangalore Development Centre will operate in tandem with RSA Security's other development centres located in Brisbane, Australia; Bedford, USA; Herzelia, Israel; and Chennai, India, at HCL Technologies, Inc.

Outlining plans for the development centre, Stan Swiniarski, vice president of Engineering (Identity & Access Management) at RSA Security, said, "The opening of our Bangalore Development Centre is scheduled for September 2006 and showcases the commitment RSA Security has to the growing international security industry. The Bangalore Development Centre will oversee the Company's award-winning identity and access management software products and will also play a key role in building mission-critical consumer solutions for authentication and extending our current fraud protection offerings."

"The Bangalore Development Centre will function as an independent software development centre sharing tools and best practices with RSA Security's other facilities while managing the total life-cycle of its own key product portfolios. This will bring greater efficiencies to our organization, while maintaining close coordination among engineering projects. It is expected that the development centre will house 100 employees by the end of 2006, spanning software development, quality assurance and technical documentation. The company plans to increase the number of employees to 200 by the end of 2007 and further ramp up the headcount to 400 people by 2008," continued Mr. Swiniarski.

Noting that India has a vast talent pool, RSA Security will be looking at home-grown Indian talent for all individual and management functions encompassing software development, as well as product managers, Human Resources personnel and finance specialists among others. Interested candidates with solid enterprise Java (J2EE) experience and a passion for software security are encouraged to submit their resumes to the career section on our website http://www.rsasecurity.com/.

Elaborating on the reasons for choosing India for RSA Security's fourth development centre, Mr. Swiniarski said, "India's emerging global dominance in the IT sector and a robust infrastructure have made it one of the world's fastest-growing economies. We decided on Bangalore as the location considering the vast talent pool that the city offers. We are impressed with the level of excitement and energy in the technical professionals we have spoken with during our recent visits. Another important driver is the proximity to RSA Security's partners, like Microsoft, which already have a strong presence in the city. Further, we plan to sponsor research activities within universities in Bangalore and elsewhere, to promote the development of best-of-breed security products."
