Reconnex will present a demonstration pod within the Innovation Station pavilion to "pitch" their products to a panel of independent judges comprised of distinguished members of the venture capital and information security community. Reconnex's Insider Threat Customer Roundtable will feature Reconnex executives as well as key customers, including one of the world's largest tax services providers, a F100 financial institution, Maimonides Medical Center, and WebEx. The executives will discuss the latest findings about the nature and extent of the insider threat, gleaned from the Reconnex's February 2006 edition of its Insider Threat Index. The latest Insider Threat Index distills insights Reconnex has gained from analyzing more than 180 terabytes of blind statistics and 4 billion content objects collected from close to one hundred 48-Hour e-Risk Rapid Assessments(TM) performed during 2005. This is the largest aggregation of the data documenting the insider threat to date. he Insider Threat Index categorizes the top insider risks affecting today's F1000 enterprises to create a national average of risk.

Author Dan Verton will be at the Reconnex booth from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, to sign copies of The Insider: A True Story. The book examines the psychology of insider data thieves and the changes in global competition-global rivalries centered on technology development and intellectual capital, outsourcing, and more-that are driving the growth of the insider threat. Verton also takes an in-depth look at specific examples of insider theft and inappropriate use of IT resources in financial services, technology, and healthcare companies as well as in government agencies. The book's findings are backed up by data from Reconnex's e-Risk Rapid Assessments.
