MANSFIELD, TEXAS (PRWEB) MARCH 28, 2019 - Design-build commercial modular building firm Ramtech Building Systems of Mansfield, Texas has announced that the company was recognized with three Awards of Distinction honors at the Modular Building Institute's 2019 World of Modular annual convention and trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ramtech received a First Place award in the Relocatable Modular Assembly category for their Denver International Airport Concourse A Expansion project, a 38,920 square foot Type II facility completed in 180 days which added six gates and a food concession area.

Ramtech also received two Honorable Mention awards. In the Permanent Modular Special Application category, the company was cited for a payment scale house designed and built for Waste Management, Inc. Built using traditional pier and beam permanent modular construction, the 952 square foot building is situated at the entrance to Waste Management’s DFW Landfill Management disposal location in Lewisville, Texas and is elevated on concrete piers to sit at the same level as the weigh scales on both sides of the structure.

The second Honorable Mention award was for the innovative custom redesign of Ramtech’s industry standard portable classrooms. Developed in collaboration with Pfluger Architects to meet the needs of the Eanes (TX) Independent School District, Ramtech received the award in the Relocatable Modular Education Under 10,000 square feet category for their innovative Learning Studios. These portable classrooms include changes that incorporate open ceilings with exposed painted trusses and spiral ductwork, pendant lighting with full height projected windows for more natural light¬ing. There are also connecting corridors that serve as a vestibule with a common restroom allowing for a shared space while help¬ing with sound attenuation.

“Winning these MBI Awards of Distinction in such diverse categories across multiple industries is what makes us unique,” said Linc Moss, President of Ramtech. “Whether it’s a single-source design-build project, working in a design-assist role, or being a strategic sub-contractor to a GC, we have the expertise, creativity, and resources to bring a collaborative team approach to every job we do.”

The 2019 Modular Building Institute Awards of Distinction program included hundreds of entries in categories for relocatable, permanent, and renovated modular buildings, as well as for marketing and promotional pieces. The Awards of Distinction competition includes over 30 categories in which MBI members including manufacturers, dealers, and product and service providers can submit entries. The building awards are judged by an independent panel of building design and construction experts on architectural excellence, technical innovation & sustainability, cost effectiveness, and energy efficiency.
