PSA Initiative Using TIBCO Software Named Best Catalyst Project at TeleManagement World Nice


Award Demonstrates TIBCO Leadership with Production-Ready Environment for Concept-To-Cash Service Lifecycle

NICE, France, July 19 / -- TIBCO Software Inc. today announced that the Product and Service Assembly (PSA) -- a TeleManagement Forum initiative in which it is participating -- has won one award and been shortlisted for another. PSA is a collaborative effort between vendors and service providers in the telecommunications sector to create an IT reference architecture for the entire product/service lifecycle from service creation to fulfilment and billing. Both accolades further demonstrate TIBCO's leadership in the industry and represent a resounding vote of confidence in its real-world approach to end-to-end process management.

The TM Forum evaluated how the project furthered the technical work of the standards body and benefited service providers. "The Product and Service Assembly catalyst has built its prototype around a relatively new set of Active Catalog specifications. Seeing these specifications implemented and working on fully commercial products is a real testimony to their maturity. I'm confident that these specifications will meet BT's needs and help slash OSS provisioning times when introducing new and innovative products," says Gary Bruce, principal researcher, OSS Futures, BT Group Chief Technology Office.

The first award came at TeleManagement World in Nice where the PSA initiative, which is sponsored by BT, TeliaSonera, Cable & Wireless and Qinetiq, won the best Catalyst Project award. The initiative, which has seen TIBCO successfully team up with Axiom Systems, ATOS Origin, Convergys, Oracle, Huawei and Microsoft, has also been shortlisted for the forthcoming BT Innovation Awards.

The demonstration at the event successfully showed broadband DSL, VoIP and IPTV with VoD capabilities being dynamically created and delivered using configuration and rules rather than coding.
