RESTON, Va., Jan. 16-- PRA International (NASDAQ:PRAI), a leading clinical research organization, today announced that Edward Ian, the company's Director of Operations - Asia, will present a one- hour audioconference on conducting clinical research in the region on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. EST. In "Clinical Investigations in Asia-Local Knowledge-based Start-up and Study Management," Ian will address the benefits and challenges of managing clinical trials in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Thailand and Singapore. He will also address the critical points that ensure successful project start-up and conduct.
The audioconference will be of special interest to leaders in pharmaceutical and biotechnology development, operations, clinical studies, outsourcing and global data management. Ian, currently based in Taiwan, was instrumental in establishing the Asian components of PRA in Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Familiar with the local requirements as well as the clinical research infrastructure in a number of the Asian countries, he has a strong interest in promoting the region for global clinical trials.
Prior to joining PRA, Ian held managerial positions with leading multinational and local companies, such as Bayer USA, Kaiser Permanente (USA) and SGS, where he was responsible for Business Management, Operations and Quality Management.
