Placon Adds ISO 8 Clean Room to Facility


MADISON, WIS. (June 2, 2006) - Placon Corporation announces the construction of an ISO 8 level (Class 100,000) Clean Room as an addition to its existing medical products manufacturing facility. The company expects to complete construction of the new clean room in early 2007.

According to Lauren Foos, National Sales Manager - Medical, "Adding the clean room allows us to enhance our overall resources and capabilities for our medical customers. We always have gone to great lengths to ensure a clean production environment, but this truly takes us to a new level. It's another benefit our customers will appreciate."

The company is also installing a new state of the art thermoforming machine. Utilizing the latest technology in process control, this machine allows Placon to make precise parts with highly accurate tolerances and material distribution as required in the medical industry.

For over 20 years, the medical products division of Placon has produced specialty medical device trays for implants, vascular devices, catheters, ampoules, and surgical kits. The company offers customers full-service from concept design, to sampling, to mold design, through to the finished product.
