Pixim Announces Opening of China Headquarters to Expand Orca Chipset and Security Camera Reference Design Sales and Support to Greater China

Alfred Chou to Head Pixim Hong Kong Offices Serving China and Taiwan

Mountain View, Calif.-- May 9, 2007 - Pixim Incorporated, known for its award-winning Digital Pixel System® (DPS) technology that sets the standard for wide dynamic range (WDR) in the surveillance camera industry, announces the opening of its Greater China Headquarters. Pixim is establishing a presence to both support camera manufacturers and to accelerate end-market adoption of DPS cameras in China and Taiwan.

Pixim's DPS technology delivers excellent image quality and color rendition in both normal and wide dynamic range scenes in any lighting conditions, 24/7. DPS technology converts light to a digital signal directly at the point of capture in the image sensor, enabling each pixel to have independent, optimized exposure times to deliver the highest image quality.

Pixim's new China Headquarters will provide sales and support for Pixim's complete digital imaging system, consisting of a family of image sensors, image processors, camera reference design kits, and key software and algorithms that allow camera developers to easily design and build high quality, advanced-featured cameras.

Alfred Chou's appointment to head the Pixim Hong Kong office as Sales & Marketing Manager, Greater China, reflects Pixim's growing commitment to success in China and Taiwan. The latest data suggests that China and Taiwan are each producing about 1 million surveillance cameras per month. Simultaneously China has become the world's fastest-growing surveillance end market.

Mr. Chou brings to Pixim years of expertise in semiconductor sales, marketing and business management, previously with ESS Technology, Inc and Tektron Electronics (HK) Ltd & Tekcomp Electronics Ltd. Alfred graduated from the University of Lancaster U.K. School of Management with degrees in Management Science and Computer Science.

"Pixim's Orca Chipsets represent the best image quality, all-digital solution available for surveillance cameras," comments Alfred Chou. "Manufacturers in China and Taiwan will benefit from a quick adoption of Pixim chipsets facilitated by our camera reference designs and extensive support services. I am excited to both meet the current demand for Pixim products and help expand Pixim's growth in the Greater China market."
